Hours: Full Time & Permanent

Salary: £33,965 to £39,346 per annum. A market supplement may be available for exceptional candidates subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

Location: Greater North Manchester - Hybrid

Burman are seeking a meticulous and proactive HR Information & Systems Officer to join a public sector client. The successful candidate will manage and enhance HR systems, provide robust management information services, and ensure the delivery of high-quality HR services in line with the HR Strategy and Customer Service Excellence (CSE) standards.

Main Function of the Position

HR Systems Administration:

  • Serve as the HRIS expert within the HR team, managing and coordinating the delivery and continuous improvement of HR systems and management information services.
  • Develop and maintain HR systems (ITRENT) and associated tools to meet the objectives of HR and the University.
  • Contribute to building the reputation of the HR department within the University, ensuring quality service delivery to its customers.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with external suppliers and internal colleagues, including Payroll and IS&T.
  • Manage the administration of the HR and payroll system (iTrent) and the e-recruitment system (Stonefish).
  • Maintain user access, security profiles, table structure, organisational structure, user-defined screens/fields, workflows, batch processing, and data cleansing.

HR Systems Documentation and Review:

  • Document and review existing HR systems and related business processes.
  • Draft user guides and training materials.

System Updates/Upgrades:

  • Oversee updates/upgrades to iTrent and Stonefish, ensuring new releases are tested and documented.
  • Resolve incidents or issues with the relevant system service desk.

Business Cases and System Implementation:

  • Work with the Chief People Officer to contribute to business cases and implement new or improved systems.
  • Automate processes, create/test new workflows, and utilise mail merge.

External Systems Providers:

  • Monitor service levels from external systems providers and oversee the change control and resolution process.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Produce HR metrics and staff-related information reports for various purposes, including statutory reporting and internal decision-making.

HR Information and Reporting:

  • Provide HR information and create reports using Business Objects for HRBPs, Finance team, senior and middle managers.

Establishment Review:

  • Coordinate the monthly establishment review with senior colleagues in Finance.

Benchmarking and Management Information:

  • Benchmark people management practices and complete associated returns, ensuring timely submission.

Data Protection Compliance:

  • Ensure HR records and information comply with relevant data protection legislation.
  • Act as the internal HR contact for Data Protection, Freedom of Information requests
