We are on the lookout for a passionate Community Fundraiser to join our forward-thinking research charity. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping us meet our strategic goals, which include boosting national investment in brain tumour research and creating a network of Research Centres of Excellence throughout the UK. As a Community Fundraiser for the East Midlands, you will be key in driving and increasing our income through a variety of community fundraising initiatives, contributing to a regional team goal of over £1.4 million.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Engage with individuals, challenge event participants, fundraising groups, and Charity of the Year partnerships to support their fundraising efforts.
  • Raise awareness of our mission, recruit new supporters, and provide outstanding stewardship to our existing supporter base.
  • Research and manage a pipeline of community fundraising opportunities within the East Midlands region.
  • Represent the charity at networking events to build relationships and expand our supporter base.
  • Communicate the impact of our work, share case studies, and involve supporters in activities to deepen their connection with the charity.
  • Support and develop volunteer fundraising groups to maximise fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and management of volunteers for local fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with current and new supporters.
  • Work collaboratively with the Fundraising team and other departments to brainstorm ideas and solutions to achieve financial targets.
  • Keep our CRM database up-to-date with supporter information and fundraising activities.
  • Engage with medical teams at neuro hospitals in your area to set up information stands on brain tumour clinic days.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in community fundraising, donor management, and stewardship.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of sensitive and empathetic dialogue.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adaptably, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • A track record of meeting financial targets.
  • Skilled in presenting information to both groups and individuals.
  • Proficient with CRM/database systems and MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Knowledgeable about Charity Law, GDPR, and the Fundraising Regulator's guidelines.
  • Access to a car and a full driving licence is preferred.
