Security Officer

About The Role
As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in the team's delivery of security and have a firm focus on delivering high levels of customer service.

We are looking for professional, diligent & customer focused individuals to join our team and help create a memorable experience for every visitor and exhibitor.

You will be working Monday to Sunday, as a casual worker.

Applicants must be able to attend an interview on Monday 24th June and, if successful, attend an induction on Saturday 13th July. There are no alternative dates.

Main Duties:

  • Acting as a first line support to employees and visitors to the site, providing a professional and friendly service
  • Investigate and report all allegations of loss, theft, criminal damage and other incidents
  • Fire, security and building systems monitoring
  • Managing crowd safety and queue management
  • Help ensure the safety of all residents, guests and staff at sites throughout your shift
  • Monitoring and maintaining the pedestrian flow at key areas inside and outside the arena
  • Be aware of and react to emergency situations as detailed in the Incident and Emergency Plans
  • Deterring anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential.
  • Experience of working within the security industry/environment is an advantage.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • An enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
  • Significant experience in a public facing, customer service role with the ability to deal with challenging situations
  • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent time-keeping to ensure you arrive ready for pre-event briefings, training and shift handovers.
