We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative on a permanent basis in a very busy environment.

Our client is one of the largest UK Distributors of vaping and smoking cessation, confectionary and FMCG products to B2B (Wholesalers, Cash and Carries, Convenience stores and Vape Shops) with additional retail platforms direct to B2C.

They began in 2017 and has grown rapidly with currently over 200 employees across our Head office, field sales force and distribution centres.

All of their locations are easily accessible with the Head office in Birmingham City Centre, and their distributions centres are 10 minutes from the Head Office.

Role Overview

As a Warehouse Operative/ replenish team member, you will be responsible for various tasks related to picking, packing, shipping, receiving, stock rotating, replenishment, and maintaining warehouse standards. This is a physically demanding role that requires lifting. Experience with warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge is preferred but not required.

We are currently looking for Goods In/ Replenishment staff for both of our running shifts.

Schedule :

Days - Monday to Friday ( 8 hour shifts between 7am- 6pm)

Evenings - Sunday - Thursday ( 8 hour shifts between 4pm - 1am )

Salary is £11.42-£12.50 per hour to start ( dependant on experience) but will be reviews of wage once probation has concluded.

Responsibilities:

  • Replenishing all stock and ensuring products are displayed in the correct date order.
  • Controlling incoming deliveries, matching them with delivery notes, and immediately addressing any issues.
  • Loading all deliveries into the correct stock locations in a timely manner.
  • Overseeing and monitoring the stock control system.
  • Safely moving materials and stock throughout the warehouse environments using equipment such as Forklift Truck, Pallet Truck, and manual handling.
  • Complying with all Company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and appropriate Risk Assessments.
  • Carrying out final checks on goods ready for delivery.
  • Ensuring recycling is carried out to agreed standards.
  • Keeping workstations clean, tidy, and organised.
  • Picking and packing orders accurately and efficiently with strong attention to detail.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and presentation standards of the warehouse and products.
  • Raising any quality issues with a supervisor/manager.
  • Supporting and assisting with continuous improvement projects.
  • Undertaking any relevant training required.
  • Completing any other reasonable additional duties as requested by management/Supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must-have.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
