We are recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to join an award winning family owned textile manufacturing company which supplies its products to 22 countries worldwide! This Warehouse Supervisor role will be based in their distribution centre just South of Birmingham city centre.
This is a permanent role working Monday to Thursday 10.30am-7pm (1030-1900) and Fridays 11.30am-7pm (1130-1900) offering a salary of circa £30,000 per annum plus great benefits as below!
As Warehouse Supervisor reporting into the Warehouse Manager you will lead a team of 12 direct reports ensuring correct picking, despatch and delivery of wholesale products within budgeted and planned cost and time parameters. You will control product quality within the Birmingham Wholesale Distribution Centre and support process improvements, while complying with all aspects of the company Quality Management System. Main duties will include:
- Plan and co-ordinate, the timely picking and despatch of wholesale products to meet and exceed KPIs
- Ensure all deliveries are checked and receipted in a timely manner, and all transactions are carried out efficiently
- To ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management.
- Ensuring the quality of the product and service within your area is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.
- Complete quality inspections on products and services, including Goods In Checks
- Full and prompt investigation of issues and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Implement the company's Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within your area of responsibility (e.g. manual handling, use of PPE, safe use of machinery and equipment, stacking & storage, etc.).
- Carry out health & safety audits and inspections as required. Record & report findings and take, or follow-up on, relevant corrective action.
- Ensure that full pre-use & shut down checks are carried out by users of machinery / equipment
- Liaise with the maintenance team to ensure preventive, breakdown and specialist maintenance of all machinery and equipment within your area, ensuring all maintenance schedules and records are updated accordingly.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure minimum disruption and down time.
- Provide strong leadership, direction and mentoring, thereby fostering and sustaining co-operation and team spirit.
- Ensure structured and planned training and development for self and team to maximise skill levels, flexibility, absence cover, etc.
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or Team Leader role within a high volume pick environment
- Strong people management skills used to managing teams of 12+ (temp and perm)
- Good IT systems knowledge including Excel
- Excellent planning, organizing and prioritizing skills
- Experience of carrying out quality inspections is desirable
- Forklift License would be advantageous but not essential
