Financial Controller - £70,000 - £85,000 - Surrey (Hybrid Working)

Trace Recruit is delighted to support the CFO of a private equity-backed business in their search for a talented Financial Controller.

Our client is seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to manage all finance functions and ensure accounts are finalized within set deadlines. Working closely with the CFO, you will ensure consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

About Your New Role:

  • Lead and train the accounts team, setting clear objectives.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts from trial balance, processing main accounting entries, and resolving queries.
  • Prepare and monitor annual and ongoing budgets.
  • Complete month-end and year-end procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
  • Develop and implement new procedures to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Manage daily cash flow and minimize exposure to stock and work in progress.
  • Oversee invoice financing and financial audits.
  • Supervise the credit control function.
  • Handle VAT returns.

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Recent experience in producing management accounts, preparing budgets, and financial analysis.
  • Proven experience leading a finance team.
  • Excellent financial modeling and cash flow management skills.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing business is advantageous.
