Job Title: Senior Civils Estimator

Location: UK-wide, with main office collaboration and site visits

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE

Company Overview:

We are a growing company specializing in civil engineering projects with a particular focus on the energy and solar sectors. Our projects span across the UK, and we work with prestigious clients such as National Grid, Scottish Power, and Siemens. With a turnover of £30 million and a vision for continual growth, we are seeking a skilled Senior Civils Estimator to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Civils Estimator, you will play a crucial role in managing the estimation process for a variety of projects, including substations, EV charging stations, roads, and drainage. You will collaborate closely with our management team, Quantity Surveyors, and buyers to ensure accurate pricing, efficient programs of work, and seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, ranging from £300k to £15 million.

Collaboration: Work closely with the management team, QSs, and buyers to price jobs, assess project programs, and ensure alignment with client requirements.

Client Interaction: Engage with clients across various sectors, including energy and industrial, to understand their needs and provide tailored estimation solutions.

Site Visits: Conduct site visits as required, approximately 2-3 times a month, to gather data and assess project requirements.

Tender Management: Complete tenders for larger projects within a 4-week turnaround and smaller projects within up to a week.

Sector Focus: Initially work on a diverse range of projects with the potential to specialize in specific sectors as the company grows.

Requirements:

Experience: Proven experience as a Civils Estimator, preferably with a background in D&B, new build, steel, or concrete frames.

Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering, commercial, and industrial building projects.

Technical Skills: Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting, and project planning.

Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Industry Insight: Familiarity with the energy sector, particularly in substation and EV charging projects, is highly desirable.

Flexibility: Willingness to travel across the UK for site visits and client meetings.
