About the Role

As a Product Owner (PO), you will play a crucial role in translating the product vision and strategy into user stories for the development team. Working closely with the Product Manager and other team members, you will contribute to the overall product strategy. This role can be based in Wokingham or Warwick, with the flexibility of hybrid working from both the office and home.

Responsibilities

  • Build, edit, and maintain the team backlog as the primary responsibility.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business and the Scrum/Agile Team, taking direction from the Product Manager on prioritisation and decomposing epics and features into user stories.
  • Make priority decisions on the order of user stories to achieve goals and business value.
  • Act as a customer proxy and collaborate with product management and other Product Owners to prepare for planning meetings.
  • Contribute to the product vision, roadmap, and value definition of features and user stories.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters to set sprint and iteration goals for team performance.
  • Ensure team understanding of backlog items and actively participate in team ceremonies.
  • Drive team performance by attending PI planning, backlog refinement, discovery refinement, sprint planning, daily scrum calls, sprint demos, and retrospectives.

About You

You have the following qualifications:

  • Experience working in a matrix team and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Appreciation for delivering change in continuous operational environments.
  • Ability to think strategically while considering short-term actions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of the business value of development decisions and their impact on product lifecycle.
  • Ideally, experience with SAFe/Scaled Agile.
  • An electricity or energy background would be a plus but is not essential.
