An Assistant Accountant is required to join a dedicated team in the Not For Profit sector, based in Wakefield. The successful candidate will bring their financial expertise to support the Accounting & Finance department's daily operations.

Description
- Supporting the finance team in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
- Performing routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the finance director.
- Helping with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintaining financial security by adhering to internal controls, and keeping information confidential.
- Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Compliance with all financial regulations.
Profile
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
- A degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
- Proficient use of finance software.
- Strong skills in mathematics, analytics and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
- Understanding of data privacy standards and financial regulations.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, financial processes and budget preparation.
