Care Home Administrator

Position: Administrator (Nursing / Residential Home Experience)
Salary: £25,500 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Wigan

Role Overview:

As the Administrator, you will be central to the home, working closely with the Registered Manager on reports, recruitment events, and various activities. Your responsibilities will include handling inquiries, conducting tours, managing pre-employment checks, maintaining files, and conducting monthly audits. Leading the reception team and performing 1:1's and appraisals will also be part of your duties.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record every resident inquiry in full on our system with clear next steps.
  • Ensure smooth and friendly move-in experiences.
  • Interact professionally, kindly, and caringly with all stakeholders, updating records accordingly.
  • Report appropriate information to the Home Manager and maintain effective communication.
  • Promote independence, rights, and choices of the residents.
  • Implement and maintain active administration systems within the Home.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing residents' finances and documentation, banking, typing, and maintaining petty cash documentation.
  • Return invoices, purchase orders, team sickness, and absence data weekly.
  • Keep up-to-date diaries and appointment systems.
  • Answer telephones, pass on messages, and receive visitors.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, taking minutes as requested.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Home Manager.

Person Specification:

  • Educational Achievements: GCSEs
  • Skills and Abilities: Good verbal and written communication skills, proficient in IT (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience: Minimum standard RSA 2.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of confidentiality and customer care.
