Semi-Independent Service Manager

Location: Cheadle, SK8
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + £5,000 bonus for OFSTED
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Semi-Independent Service Manager to open and oversee a new 3-bed property in Cheadle, supporting young people aged 16+ on their journey to independence. This is a rewarding role within a 16+ service, providing essential guidance and support to help young people transition to independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open and manage the daily operations of the new 3-bed semi-independent service, ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
  • Develop and implement personalised support plans that promote independence, life skills, and personal development.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of support workers, ensuring high standards of care and support are maintained.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of young people, adjusting support plans as needed to meet their evolving needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those set by OFSTED.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and external agencies.
  • Prepare for and participate in OFSTED inspections, aiming to achieve and maintain high ratings.
  • Manage the service's budget and resources effectively, ensuring financial sustainability.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a managerial or senior role within a semi-independent or similar care setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people transitioning to independence.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including OFSTED requirements.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting the independence and well-being of young people.
  • Relevant qualifications in social care, youth work, or a related field.
  • Full driving licence.
