Social Worker - Cared for Children

  • Annual Salary: Up to £45,416 (including a 15% market supplement paid monthly)

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Cared for Children team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support and care to children and young people in the care of the local authority. This position requires a professional with strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to advocating for the rights and needs of vulnerable children.

Day to day of the role:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and reviews of looked after children.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualised care plans.
  • Collaborate with foster carers, residential staff, and other professionals to promote the best outcomes for the children.
  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and development of looked after children.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of the children in care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records and documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
  • Experience in child protection and looked after children services.
  • Strong understanding of the needs and rights of vulnerable children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
