SF Recruitment are currently working with a fantastic education organisation based in Coventry. They are looking to onboard an Interim Finance Manager. The Interim Finance Manager will manage the finance operations team of five, who work to process income, expenditure (excluding payroll) and cash/bank transactions. Promote and develop ways of working that generate a collaborative and highly cohesive team which delivers outstanding performance and service to others.
Key tasks:
? Manage a team of five reports made up of: Income Officer, Purchasing Office and three Finance Assistants.
? Perform regular 1-2-1s with each member of the team, addressing any areas for development.
? Manage absences (e.g. annual leave requests, sickness).
? Allocate work and monitor performance.
? Ensure that financial systems and processes are appropriate, robust, documented and honoured throughout the organisation.
? Perform a rolling review of procedures and policies in relation to income and expenditure to aid identification of any improvement, efficiencies or best practice which may be adopted.
? Aim to maximise the use of the accounting software, ensuring all team members are fully trained and familiar with relevant parts of the system, including general, sales and purchase ledgers.
? Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of financial data held withing the accounting system within the context of monthly management and annual statutory reporting.
? Work with the Management Accountant to provide accurate data from the billing and accounting systems with all data correctly coded to the general ledger for comparability against budget.
? Provide the Head of Finance with meaningful management information to support decision making.
? Create reports to verify trends and to monitor performance.
? Manage, maintain, and monitor all income streams.
? Manage, develop, and maintain effective control processes and procedures, meticulous data records and insightful reporting that ensures termly fee invoices are issued accurately and on-time.
