Principal Designer - Otley, (Leeds) - West Yorkshire - Salary to £52,000 (DOE), hybrid - fantastic benefits!
Are you fed up being a small cog in a big wheel and craving autonomy and flexibility in a Building Design company that invests in its staff (pays for professional accreditations etc) and pushes you to the next level in your career? If so then my award-winning client has an opportunity for a Principal Designer to provide guidance to the project team in order the projects conform to the CDM Regs 2015. You will be required to advise clients as to their role and responsibilities under CDM2015 and where requested, fulfilling clients' duties wherever possible, attend design team meetings, reviewing designs and identifying potential hazards / design issues that may affect the H&S of those involved in the project and future building occupant and offer solutions / guidance to any of the designers' issues.
As a Principal Designer you will review designers' compliance with their responsibilities under CDM2015, prepare pre-construction information and issue to tendering contractors, liaise with principal contractor and clients to ensure the Construction Phase Plan is suitable and in place prior to commencement of construction works, prepare and issue F10 Notifications where applicable, co-ordinate and prepare H & S files and provide ad-hoc CDM advice to designers, contractors and clients
You will have a recognised design qualification., ideally NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate (or a member of the APS / IOSH or equivalent professional body), have working knowledge of CDM2015 and associated guidance (L153), solid experience in a CDM Advisory / PD role and understanding of the construction and design processes, have client facing experience for progress and design meetings and be competent with MS Office suite .
