Main Role Responsibilities
We need an Experienced Children's Social Worker who is confident in completing a range of assessments of children and their families - including Child and Family Assessments, Parenting Assessment and Sibling assessments; to manage a range of cases for CIN, CP, CIC and cases in legal proceedings (both Public and Private Law).
Applicants will also have ideally experience of undertaking Joint / Single Agency Children Act 1989 Section 47. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a working knowledge of Signs of Safety.
Whilst the successful candidate will be supported and supervised by an experienced permanent Practice Supervisor, it is expected that the candidate will be able to work independently, and be confident in decision making in the best interests of children and families. You will also be expected to lead multi-agency meetings to discuss plans that support children and families.
You will be required to be part of a weekly duty rota on a 4 weekly rotation basis, on these weeks you will be required to be office based for all 5 days of the week. On the other three weeks flexible work / home arrangements are in place, with an expectation that you will be in the office 3 days a week, and able to work from home the other 2.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant degree or equivalent qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Experience working with vulnerable children
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full enhanced DBS
