Technical Buildings Project Manager

We are looking to recruit for a Planning and Technical Co-Coordinator for our established client based in Swindon.

The role is to co-ordinate multiple consultants and external agencies on planning, technical and engineering design matters for existing and potential development sites.

Lead on Principal Designer Role (CDM)

Act as a liaison between company and building control and utility/service providers.

Tasks

  • Co-ordinate design input and keep abreast of technical and necessary revisions relating to changes in building regulations and standards as required.
  • Liaise with consultants, statutory authorities, planning authorities, NHBC/LABC, SAP assessors and suppliers to ensure compliance with current regulations and obtaining all necessary approvals.
  • Communicate with service undertakers and others in providing water, electricity, fibre, and other services layouts pre-construction.
  • Provide input on technical and design issues affecting all forms of development.
  • Regularly attend site to ensure compliance with necessary standards.
  • Organise topographic and all other necessary surveys, investigations and reports as required.
  • Appoint, co-ordinate and consult with surveyors, architects, engineers, and other consultants. Including managing fee scope, budgets etc.
  • Review technical and environmental data relating to both existing and potential sites to provide the most cost-effective design.
  • Manage document control and issue to commercial, production and sales teams.
  • The role will be 30% site and 70% office working

Experience

  • Experience of working as a Technical Manager, Technical Coordinator or Senior Engineer
  • Experience managing the end-to-end lifecycle in planning, budgeting and delivering residential new homes in a technical role.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, detailing and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of modern/economic build methods, efficient design techniques and sub-structures.
  • Full understanding of CDM regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence.
