Fantastic Opportunity to join a charity retailer

Salary up to £30,000 per annum dependant on experience plus benefits

My client is a well-established, charity retailer based in North London. They are currently looking for a commercial, motivated and forward-thinking Store/Shop Manager to help manage key shops in Kensal Rise and Willesden.

As the Shop Manager/Store Manager your primary responsibility is to maximise income generation and ensure all targets are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities:

  • Exercise autonomy in managing the shop, demonstrating strong leadership and independence to navigate the fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment. Delegate tasks effectively and provide ongoing training and support to team members, including the assistant manager, to ensure operational duties are efficiently handled.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers to build a high-performing team. Cultivate a positive and fulfilling volunteer experience, ensuring that each member feels valued and supported in their role. Promote diversity and equality within the shop team, reflecting the community we serve.
  • Lead by example in providing excellent customer service to shoppers, donors, and volunteers. Create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere in the shop, promoting positive relationships and behaviours among all stakeholders.
  • Represent the charity brand through the shop, embodying its values. Uphold the organisation's reputation by maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ensure that all shop operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling, are conducted efficiently and in compliance with organisational policies and procedures to ensure the shop is complaint and achieves its KPI's and targeted income.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience in a retail management role, preferably in a charity shop environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • KPI aware and commercially driven and focused.
  • Knowledge of working with Volunteers.
  • Experience and knowledge of gift aid.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion within the workplace.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the charity.
