We are seeking a motor vehicle instructor. This role involves planning and facilitating a curriculum accredited by OCN London for small groups of students aged 14-19 with special educational needs. The successful candidate will be based in a purpose-built practical workshop and modern classrooms, delivering Entry Level 3 - Level 2 qualifications.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Delivering a comprehensive curriculum in Motor Vehicle Studies to KS4 and KS5 students.
  • Personalising learning to cater to students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Building network links with local industry to support work experience placements and student transitions.
  • Enhancing practical and theoretical knowledge with real-world experience.
  • Engaging in professional development opportunities leading to specialist SEND accreditation.
  • Contributing to the cross-curricular life of the school and preparing pupils for external exams.
  • Managing the Food technology curriculum and ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
  • Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and student behaviour.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant trade qualifications and recent industry experience.
  • Passion for teaching and the ability to deliver Entry Level 3 - Level 2 qualifications.
  • AET Level 3 (Entry to Teaching qualification) or willingness to achieve AET Level 5 within 2 years of appointment.
  • Strong track record of delivering successful outcomes to students with various needs.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections and working with vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to teach multiple subjects and perform various teaching-related tasks.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently with regular appraisal.
