Our client an established leader within the Lloyd's market, are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join a team of dedicated professionals and drive their success. The Underwriting teams, supported by skilled actuarial and exposure management teams, offer extensive experience across various territories, the claims team ensures fair and prompt resolutions. In this role, you will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Overview

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing accounts payable processes, managing bank reconciliations, handling journal postings, and maintaining cash management along with other general financial administration tasks.

Duties

Your primary responsibilities will include

  • conducting monthly bank reconciliations,
  • managing accounts payable operations,
  • handling purchase and expenses ledger postings,
  • overseeing cash flow management.

IT Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required, along with accurate and efficient keyboard and data input skills. Familiarity with in-house systems such as Access, Cascade, and the Document Repository System, knowledge of Sun Accounts an advantage.

Required Knowledge

A successful candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of

  • invoice payment preparation, bank reconciliations, journal postings, and expense management.
  • in-depth knowledge of statutory employment policies and procedures, as well as a comprehensive understanding of company and compliance policies.
  • FSA rules, Lloyd's and Companies Acts, DPA, and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Risk management, including risk evaluation, measurement, mitigation, and review. A
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, both within the firm and externally
  • Data Policy, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely data management, is a key requirement.

General Skills

  • Effective time management and workload prioritization are crucial to meet deadlines in this role.
  • Ability to craft clear and precise written communications and build strong relationships through negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Decision-making competence, with the ability to make informed decisions or escalate, when necessary, is essential.
