Children's Services in Tameside are on an improvement journey and we looking for a committed and enthusiastic Team Manager to join us in one of our Duty and Assessment Neighbourhood teams.

For this role you will have considerable experience of working with children and their families in a statutory social care environment, specifically managing and support social workers and ASYEs, and a wealth of experience supervising complex caseloads on a busy team. As Team Manager you will be responsible for a team providing assessment, planning and intervention services to children in need of a statutory assessment.

With fantastic leadership skills and attributes, you will ensure your team members are well supported and equipped to succeed. We expect you to have extensive front line experience as well as a solid track record of managing and developing a team. Building positive relationships is important not just with the children, young people and families we work with but also with colleagues and external partner agencies.

You will offer a high level of support and challenge to your social workers and inspire your teams to do their very best for Tameside children.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
