Our client is a dynamic and growing company seeking an experienced and highly skilled Financial Controller to join their team in Caterham. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing financial operations, ensuring strong financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our growth and success.
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday - Friday,9am - 5pm
Heading up a small Purchase Ledger team, the role of Financial Controller will include, but will not be limited to**:**
- Management Accounts: Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Group Statutory Annual Financial Statements: Lead the preparation of group statutory annual financial statements in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Cash Flow Forecasts: Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to ensure the company's liquidity and financial stability.
- Review of VAT Returns: Oversee the preparation and review of VAT returns to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Group Budgets and Forecasts: Coordinate the preparation of group budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
- Maintaining Strong Financial Controls and Processes: Ensure robust financial controls and processes are in place and adhered to across the organization.
- Manage Credit Control: Oversee the credit control function to optimise the company's cash flow and minimise bad debts.
- Manage Purchase Ledger Team: Lead and support the purchase ledger team to ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments.
- Audit Preparation and Reporting: Prepare for annual audits, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring all audit requirements are met.
- WIP Accounting: Manage Work In Progress (WIP) accounting, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of project costs and revenues.
Qualifications and Skills required for this role:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a group environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
