Land Manager Opportunity

Location: Devon, South West (3 days in office, 2 days at home)
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience + car allowance + excellent benefits

Join an established Housing Developer embarking on ambitious growth plans. This is a unique opportunity for a Land Manager to make a significant impact on our clients future. You'll be part of a small, dynamic team, working closely with the Board, helping to steer the company towards achieving its goals.

Role Overview:

As a Land Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and acquiring new development and land opportunities through networking and market contacts. You will contribute to the acquisition strategy, due diligence processes, and land bids. Your role will encompass sourcing land sites, progressing them from pre-acquisition through to post-planning, and handing them over to our Technical, Procurement, Production, and Sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and acquire suitable development opportunities and maximize bidding success.
  • Appoint and coordinate professional consultant teams to optimize site value, design, and planning submissions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks at pre-production stages.
  • Handle pre-commencement planning conditions.
  • Assist with the coordination of development information handover to technical, procurement, production, and sales teams.
  • Travel throughout the South West as required (full driving license essential).

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in pre-development and planning stages, including acquisition, planning, and site delivery.
  • Strong understanding of the wider development lifecycle, including sales, marketing, and customer care.
  • Demonstrable design flair and an ability to interrogate design proposals.
  • Proven experience in coordinating internal teams and managing external consultants to deliver planning permissions.
  • Motivated, driven, and a team player with superb communication and people skills.
  • Experience with small to medium housing developers, possibly as a planning officer or RICS qualified via the Planning & Development pathway.
  • Proven track record of generating opportunities and successfully managing land purchases through planning and site readiness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
