Halliday Marx have partnered with an established media company to recruit a Finance Manager on an interim basis for 10 months.

Our client work on a hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

  • The aim of the Finance workstream is to deliver fit for purpose international Finance and Corporate Tax policies, standards, and business practices.
  • The role will work with UK-based and international colleagues located across approximately 60 international bureaux.
  • The workstream will review and document existing policies, standards, and business practices.
  • It will then propose improvements to those policies, standards, and business practices with an emphasis on a standardised approach and fit for purpose / best in practice quality standards.
  • Once agreed the updated policies, standards and business practices will be documented and shared with relevant bureaux and UK Head Office teams.
  • The Finance Manager will lead and document weekly workstream meetings ensuring that Finance plan deliverables are proactively managed and delivered, and risks / issues / dependencies are highlighted.
  • There will be a particular focus for this role on Finance policies, standards, and business practices. In addition, the workstream team will include a Corporate Tax representative as well as a project manager who will be responsible for coordinating the roll-out of QuickBooks or other accounting solutions to the bureaux. The Finance workstream lead will coordinate all these activities in the workstream plan and meetings.
  • The role will also provide Finance expertise and insight as required by the project including financial analysis and reporting for the project.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Experience of working on Finance projects and contributing to or ideally leading Finance workstream teams.
  • Experience of dealing with international based colleagues.
  • Experience of working with and the analysis and interpretation of financial information.
  • Significant experience of the application of Finance governance and control principles.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence business and Finance stakeholders.
