Main Objectives: Your mission is to oversee electronic components in use and those under consideration for new designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Optimise current components to enhance efficiency and reduce redundancy. Standardise component part numbering systems for streamlined processes. Collaborate with Purchasing to overcome component sourcing challenges effectively. Ensure the quality and reliability of electronic components, while proactively managing and mitigating component obsolescence. Identify alternative component sources and conduct thorough testing and evaluation for new and existing designs. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for smooth procurement processes. Work with design teams to select cost-effective components meeting regulatory standards. Investigate component failures, implementing necessary corrective and preventive actions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Background in electronic design with exposure to purchasing processes. Professional or academic qualifications in electronic engineering. Proven experience in component engineering. Technical proficiency in component engineering principles. Familiarity with electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Confident, motivated, and well-organised with meticulous attention to detail.
