Qualifications:
- Time served NVQ and/or degree qualified in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in all aspects of CNC machinery maintenance/mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing CNC machinery, manual machines, and machining centres.
- Strong electrical, systems repair, and diagnostic skills with a solid foundation in mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery, including multi-axis lathes, horizontal and vertical milling machines, with experience working on Fanuc controls being advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
- Knowledge of general manufacturing processes, including experience in commissioning and decommissioning machinery.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision.
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, and bend/stoop on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
- Repair, install, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC machinery, manual machines, and machining centres.
- Identify and resolve issues with hydraulics, electronics, software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal/vendor resources to research and address machine issues.
- Conduct testing, make necessary adjustments to parts, and replace components as required.
- Perform full condition appraisals on CNC machinery and implement planned and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Assist in planning and executing machine moves.
- Escalate any issues that could potentially disrupt production to the appropriate channels.
