Salary: £40,000

Shifts: Morning, Afternoon, Nights

Shift Flow: Mornings, Nights, Afternoons rotating every week.

Mon-Thurs

Mornings 06:00:14:00, Nights 22:00-06:00, Afternoons 14:00-22:00

Friday

Mornings 06:00-12:00, Nights 18:00 - 24:00, Afternoons 12:00-18:00

Duration: Permanent

Qualifications:

  • Time served NVQ and/or degree qualified in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in all aspects of CNC machinery maintenance/mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing CNC machinery, manual machines, and machining centres.
  • Strong electrical, systems repair, and diagnostic skills with a solid foundation in mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with CNC machinery, including multi-axis lathes, horizontal and vertical milling machines, with experience working on Fanuc controls being advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing processes, including experience in commissioning and decommissioning machinery.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision.
  • Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, and bend/stoop on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair, install, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC machinery, manual machines, and machining centres.
  • Identify and resolve issues with hydraulics, electronics, software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal/vendor resources to research and address machine issues.
  • Conduct testing, make necessary adjustments to parts, and replace components as required.
  • Perform full condition appraisals on CNC machinery and implement planned and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in planning and executing machine moves.
  • Escalate any issues that could potentially disrupt production to the appropriate channels.
