Development Engineer

Development Engineer required for permanent role within a manufacturing company in Clevedon, BS21. This role will involve defining and refining product requirements within the semiconductor abatement industry, managing the product roadmap, and overseeing the development process.

  • Up to £41,500 per annum

About the role

  • Designing and develop all mechanical aspects of a product range and participating in design reviews (specification, concept, model and critical).
  • Type testing and compliance testing of designs, including design of experiment.
  • To support the introduction of new products onto the factory flow line and where necessary on customers' sites.
  • To ensure engineering changes are concluded in accordance with the planned schedule.
  • Participate in HAZOP/DFMEA studies and use risk analysis techniques according to best practice ensuring that resulting actions are included in a verification test plan, factory acceptance test or final test and commissioning document.

The right candidate

  • A minimum 2:2 Engineering degree or demonstrated industry experience with other engineering qualifications.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical design concepts and system testing.
  • Familiarity with safety assessments, compliance standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in product development methodologies, including requirements gathering, design, validation, and manufacturing transition.
  • Strong communication skills, organisational awareness, and impact.
  • Experience with system characterisation, testing, and failure analysis techniques.
  • Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills, both internally and externally
