HR Policy Writer Fixed Term

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our People team as HR Policy writer, on a fixed term basis for 12 months. Based from our office in Basingstoke, you'll share your time between the office and home to ensure a positive work / life balance.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Business Partnering, you'll develop, write and maintain a comprehensive suite of HR policies and procedures which are aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and codes of practice, as well as reflecting the culture of the organisation.

You'll collaborate with a range of stakeholders across the business to identify HR policy needs and gather feedback. You'll use your writing skills and creative flair to ensure complex information is translated into clear, concise documents that are modern in style and appearance and support a shift in cultural change and the way in which we operate. Main responsibilities include:

  • Researching, developing and writing HR policies, procedures and guidelines, which are compliant with legislation and reflect a modern approach
  • Collaborating with stakeholders including the Employee Forums to identify HR policy needs and implement changes
  • Reviewing and updating existing policies with changes in laws, regulations and company practices
  • Creating and maintaining a policy handbook that is accessible and easy to understand for all colleagues
  • Communicating new and revised policies to employees and managers, providing training and guidance to HR teams as well as employees and managers
  • Monitoring policies regularly to ensure they remain up to date and clarifying any queries around interpretation

What we're looking for

You should have a background in HR with a strong understanding of HR practices, employment law and regulatory requirements. You will need demonstrable experience in HR policy writing or within a similar role. You'll also need:

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
  • Excellent creativity and innovation skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills to effectively prioritise work
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems
