Job Title: Data Engineer – Hybrid
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
About the Role:
I am working with a leading retailer who are looking for a Data Engineer to join their ever-growing Data team in Greater Manchester.
In this role, you will play a critical part in generating insights from data gathered across all areas of their business, including retail, leadership, merchandising, and logistics. Your work will directly impact their ability to make data-driven decisions, enhancing the overall business operations.

While a solid technical background is desirable, what's more important is your eagerness to learn new technologies and help drive success through innovative data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the entire data analytics pipeline, from exploring datasets to modelling them into valuable analytical products.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT mappings and pipelines to support the data platform.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of other Engineers, DI Developers, analysts, and subject matter experts to deliver data solutions that meet the needs of key stakeholders.
- Utilize strong technical knowledge in data integration methodologies and advanced SQL skills to manipulate and manage data efficiently.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and leadership teams to identify analytical needs and provide solutions.
- Support the Central Data function in improving and expanding the existing data analytics platform through innovation and new initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
- A strong passion for data and its potential to transform business decision-making.
- Hands-on experience in building data pipelines and knowledge of ETL/ELT processes.
- Excellent SQL skills and experience in data manipulation.
- Knowledge of GCP is essential
- Ability to engage effectively with technical stakeholders and business subject matter experts.
- A willingness to learn and adopt new technologies as needed to enhance our data capabilities.
- Experience working with modern data platforms (experience with tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, or others is a plus).
