Join an exciting and impactful role as a Safeguarding Support Officer. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing improvement and transformation of children's services in one of the UK's most diverse communities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Coordinate and attend Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences involving multiple agencies such as Children's Social Care, Police, Health, and Education. Take accurate and specialist minutes, produce concise records, circulate documents, and follow up on actions as necessary.
  • Organise Reviews for Children Looked After by the Local Authority.
  • Ensure that the Independent Reviewing Service and the Child Protection Service meet statutory timescales.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal teams and external partners, ensuring timely communication and critical updates regarding multi-agency meetings and procedures.
  • Maintain data collection systems to ensure data quality and accuracy, preparing monthly quality assurance monitoring reports.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for external and internal partners concerning the arrangements of Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Children Reviews, and other complex meetings.
  • Update partner agencies on children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children Looked After, ensuring data security is maintained.
  • Manage own workload related to data improvement efforts within managed systems.
  • Support the operational running of the Children's Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in coordinating multi-agency meetings and taking detailed minutes.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish good working relationships.
  • Proficiency in data management and producing accurate reports.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing service needs.
