Working Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a mainstream primary school setting located in Dagenham, near Dagenham Heathway Station. The successful candidate will work in a specialized unit that caters to up to 12 children across 2-3 classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, primarily learning at an early years stage.
  • Assist in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Support the class teacher with lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Offer personal care to pupils, including support with toileting and other hygiene needs.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor the progress of students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Ability to provide personal care and manage the needs of pupils who are not fully toilet trained.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
