Technical Web Analyst (Contract)

I am seeking a talented and experienced Technical Web Analyst to join a leading retail client on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in setting up a comprehensive GA4 eCommerce implementation from scratch and managing marketing and analytics tracking via Google Tag Manager (GTM). The ideal candidate will be confident in using GTM, experienced in overseeing tracking/tagging projects, and adept at deriving actionable insights from digital analytics.
Role & Responsibilities
- GA4 eCommerce Implementation: Lead the setup of Google Analytics 4 for our client's eCommerce platform, ensuring comprehensive and accurate tracking of user interactions
- Google Tag Manager Expertise: Deploy and manage marketing and analytics tracking tags in GTM, ensuring smooth integration and accurate data collection
- Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation for the implementation process, tagging structure, and analytics configurations
- Project Contribution: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, plan the tracking roadmap, and communicate future requirements to the development team
- Post-Launch Support: Monitor the website post-launch, identifying any pain points or issues, and provide actionable insights to improve user experience and business outcomes
- Data Analysis & Insights: Utilise your digital analytics expertise to analyse data, generate insights, and present findings to help inform business decisions
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in digital analytics with a strong understanding of GA4 and eCommerce tracking
- Proficiency in Google Tag Manager and experience in setting up and managing tags for complex digital environments
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, with experience in documenting processes and presenting findings to stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Experience in the retail sector is a plus
