As an Advanced Practitioner in our Children in Care team, you will be pivotal in providing exceptional services to the children and young people of Gloucestershire. We are looking for a resilient and driven individual to help us achieve our vision for children's services. You will manage a protected caseload, focusing on children and young people with complex needs, and lead quality control and improvement activities within the team.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage a protected caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring the best outcomes.
  • Develop trusting relationships with children and young people from the making of the legal order until they turn 18.
  • Provide supervision and management oversight for the practice and development of Trainee Social Workers and NQSW within the team.
  • Take a lead in promoting and supporting quality control and improvement activities within the team and across the service.
  • Support performance activities and contribute to the team's learning and development.
  • Offer practice knowledge and skills to other team members, supporting the team manager in embedding learning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
  • Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
  • UK-based statutory social work experience.
  • Must have passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) if qualified after 2012.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Experience at Senior Social Worker level.
