Job Title: Tutor – Functional Skills
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Warrington
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week

Job Description:
As a qualified Teacher within a Study Programme, you will deliver Functional Skills in Maths and English, from Entry Levels up to Level 2, for students aged 16-18. You will work at the college site, helping young people develop key skills to progress into apprenticeships, employment, or further education.
Main responsibilities of the Functional Skills Tutor include:
- Leading the production of schemes of work for service delivery
- Preparing and developing engaging lesson plans and group activities
- Delivering individual and group training, setting objectives and targets
- Diagnosing learners' literacy, numeracy, and ICT needs using various teaching aids
- Collaborating with team members to ensure learners achieve their goals
- Providing guidance and support to help learners progress
- Managing any behaviour issues that arise appropriately
Qualifications required for The Functional Skills Tutor:
- Relevant professional qualification
- Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English
- A teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Previous experience of delivering Functional Skills in a classroom setting
- Experience supporting young people would be desirable
