About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive team in Cambridge. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have a variety of additional needs, helping to provide them with a positive and inclusive learning experience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs and making a real difference in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning experiences for students with special educational needs.
  • Support individual and small groups of students, providing targeted support to help them engage with the curriculum.
  • Implement and support individual learning plans (IEPs), ensuring students' needs are met in the classroom.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Help students with personal care needs and promote their independence and social development.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCo, therapists, and external agencies, to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development.
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and confident.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a deep commitment to supporting their individual needs. You should have experience working with students with additional learning needs, either in a school or similar educational setting. We are particularly looking for someone who is patient, adaptable, and ready to make a positive impact on students' learning and well-being.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs (desired but not essential).
  • A positive, empathetic attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEN strategies and approaches (training will be provided).
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices and the ability to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
