Human Resource Manager

Acorn by Synergie are currently looking for a HR manager to join one of our well-established clients in the Pontypool area.

Details of job role:

  • Monitoring and managing employee attendance and performance.
  • Undertaking disciplinary investigations and hearings.
  • Dealing with grievances & mediating between employees.
  • Recruitment of employees - advertising the job, liaising with recruitment agencies & interviewing.
  • Carrying out employee inductions.
  • Training and developing of employees.
  • Liaising with colleges/universities in relation to apprentices.
  • Advising managers, foremen and employees on current employment law and the company's own employment policies and procedures.
  • Negotiating contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with employees.
  • Managing the Company workwear (overalls) contract.
  • Running the Company's time & attendance system and producing reports in the absence of the Personnel Administrator.

Skills and experience required:

  • Must have experience within a previous HR role.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft office packages.
  • Must be approachable and very hands on as you will be required to spend a lot of time on the shop floor.
  • Have a calm and assertive firm attitude with the ability to work under pressure without direct supervision.

Hours of work and pay rate:

  • 4 day working week Monday - Thursday but some Fridays will be required. Working hours will be discussed at interview.
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • £40,000 per annum.

Please be aware this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
