Acorn by Synergie are currently looking for a HR manager to join one of our well-established clients in the Pontypool area.
Details of job role:
- Monitoring and managing employee attendance and performance.
- Undertaking disciplinary investigations and hearings.
- Dealing with grievances & mediating between employees.
- Recruitment of employees - advertising the job, liaising with recruitment agencies & interviewing.
- Carrying out employee inductions.
- Training and developing of employees.
- Liaising with colleges/universities in relation to apprentices.
- Advising managers, foremen and employees on current employment law and the company's own employment policies and procedures.
- Negotiating contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with employees.
- Managing the Company workwear (overalls) contract.
- Running the Company's time & attendance system and producing reports in the absence of the Personnel Administrator.
Skills and experience required:
- Must have experience within a previous HR role.
- Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft office packages.
- Must be approachable and very hands on as you will be required to spend a lot of time on the shop floor.
- Have a calm and assertive firm attitude with the ability to work under pressure without direct supervision.
Hours of work and pay rate:
- 4 day working week Monday - Thursday but some Fridays will be required. Working hours will be discussed at interview.
- Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- £40,000 per annum.
