Job Description

We have an exciting new role for an Environment and Release Manager to join our innovative technology department.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environment and Release Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing our release processes and internal environments, ensuring seamless production releases, and coordinating deployments and configurations with our scrum teams and DevOps professionals.

What will my role entail?

  • ‘Mission controller' for releases
  • Co-ordinates the leads and scrum masters for software delivery, testing, DevOps, business readiness, support/service management
  • Full time, across all programme streams
  • Running production readiness forums (at the least S&S and claims)
  • Management and co-origination of release readiness activities
  • Putting in place and improving release governance
  • Supporting go/no-go
  • Drives improvement in the release process and related processes
  • Environment management – ensuring configuration and deployments are in line with scrum team expectations
  • Alongside the orchestration of environment problem management to resolution

Qualifications

You are a good fit for the role if you have the following:

  • Experienced agile practitioner and strong delivery background
  • Strong experience in iterative software development and release management at scale (8+ squads)
  • Solid understanding of DevOps and modern testing approaches
  • Experience in business readiness and business change management
  • Ideally technical background, able to understand sophisticated distributed systems and the dependencies between tech and squads
  • Strong experience of working with distributed teams and multiple organisations
  • Able to be calm and methodical under pressure and work at a very fast pace
  • Coaching mindset and able to empower when vital (push/pull)
  • Comfortable working at all levels (C Suite to squads)
  • Experience in a regulated environment, ideally FS
