The successful applicant will possess previous Payroll management and end to end payroll processing experience within a mid tier practice accountancy/bureau/umbrella environment, together with previous team management and mentoring expertise. In addition will possess solid knowledge of payroll procedures/legislation being ideally CIPP qualified with proven ability in building and managing a high performing team.

Your New Role as Payroll Senior Manager:

You will be an experienced Payroll Senior Manager responsible for building strong relationships with clients and providing an exceptional value added service, overseeing and managing a small team comprising of a Payroll Manager with additional team members to be recruited. This role offers full autonomy, to provide leadership and development of the existing payroll team, delivery of client payrolls working hands on and managing/overseeing additional team payrolls and ensuring efficiency and accuracy of payroll processing in line with the firms processes and current legislation. The successful candidate will ideally be CIPP qualified (or working towards) with the passion and drive to fully utilise their payroll expertise and develop their career and skillset further.

Day To Day Duties:

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Delivering hands on and overseeing client full end to end payrolls weekly/fortnightly/monthly payrolls via Brightpay
  • Leadership and development of the Payroll Manager and additional team members as the department expands
  • Overseeing and delivery of auto enrolment pension contributions and updating details with providers
  • Auditing payrolls, running reports to ensure they satisfy regulations
  • CIS/EPS/FPS
  • SMP/SSP
  • Effective management of payroll client relationships, resolving solving queries with clients and HMRC and providing a high quality and professional payroll service
  • Developing the internal payroll processes and procedures to increase efficiency, accuracy
  • Meeting service level delivery KPI's and quality team standards
  • Dealing with and overseeing statutory payments such as maternity, paternity and sick leave, undertaking manual calculations of payroll taxes and NI
  • Working through the end of year process
  • Staff management, training and development with management of the Payroll Manger

Experience & Qualifications Required To Apply:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Senior Manager or Payroll Manager with min of 3yrs payroll experience, with good technical/legislation knowledge, ready for their next step progression. With extensive knowledge of delivering a full end to end payroll processing and ideally CIPP qualified, with expertise within accountancy/bureau/umbrella environment. You will also possess excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone to deal with client queries in a polite, effective manner, together with strong numeracy skills and high level of attention to detail. In addition will have proven ability in building and managing a high performing team, with solid coaching/mentoring skills and be highly organised and methodical in your approach.
