They are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Graduate Trainee Tax Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to start their career in accounting and gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Role overview:
As a Graduate Trainee Accountant, you will be involved in a variety of accounting tasks including bookkeeping, year-end accounts preparation, and tax returns/computations. You will receive comprehensive training and support as you work towards your ACA or ACCA qualification.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of Tax Returns: Assist in the preparation and submission of personal, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, address queries, and provide updates on tax matters, ensuring high levels of client service and satisfaction.
- Tax Research and Analysis: Conduct research on various tax issues, changes in legislation, and emerging trends to support senior tax advisors and provide informed advice to clients.
- Support in Tax Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for clients, aiming to optimize their tax positions and identify potential tax-saving opportunities.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all tax compliance deadlines are met, prepare supporting documentation for tax audits, and assist in responding to tax authority inquiries and investigations.
Qualifications and requirements:
- A 1st class degree is essential
- A passion for accountancy, with a demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for a career in accounting.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
