Reed Education is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Lancaster. This full-time, long-term role is available for immediate start. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the English curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Delivering English lessons in line with the curriculum for KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being an advantage.
  • Creating an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Employing effective classroom management techniques.
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress.
  • Collaborating with other teachers to share best practices and professional development.
  • Acting as a positive role model, displaying qualities such as compassion, trustworthiness, and good listening skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must possess QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience being beneficial.
  • Demonstrated excellence in classroom practice with strong subject knowledge.
  • A reliable and committed individual who is interested in working with students and serving as a good role model.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a track record of being trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident in working with children.
