SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and vibrant school community starting in September 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students, fostering their growth and development in a nurturing environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage student participation and independence, tailoring support to individual needs
  • Support students with personal care needs, where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a SEND setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young people with SEND
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential
