English Teacher

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Corby. This full-time position is set to begin in January 2025 and offers a path from temporary to permanent employment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-quality English education in line with the national curriculum.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English lessons that meet the national curriculum standards.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning and student participation.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring they are fully equipped to achieve their target grades.
- Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, school events, and ongoing professional development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and strategies for effective teaching and learning.
- Attend and contribute to department meetings, parent evenings, and other school events as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree in a relevant subject (English Language or Literature).
- Previous experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4; experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for teaching English.
- Right to work in the UK.
