  • *Your Role and Responsibilities:**
  • **Risk Management:** Maintain an understanding of key risk components affecting a law firm, including SRA Code of Conduct obligations, AML, and Data Protection rules. Identify new compliance risks and recommend policy changes as needed.
  • **Daily Operations:** Manage the shared Risk & Compliance inbox, escalating queries to the Risk & Compliance Officer when necessary.
  • **Client Assessments:** Review and assist with client risk assessments, administer ongoing monitoring, enhanced due diligence, and sanction regime procedures.
  • **Collaborative Work:** Work closely with other business support functions, including Client Relations, IT, and Finance teams.
  • **Regulatory Proactivity:** Stay ahead of the ever-changing regulatory landscape, assessing its impact on the firm and its processes.
  • **Project Assistance:** Support compliance projects, including insurance renewals, third-party supplier screening, and IT projects.
  • **Conflict Analysis:** Analyse conflict search results to identify potential legal and/or commercial conflicts and facilitate their resolution.
  • **Record Maintenance:** Implement and maintain information barriers, appropriate records, registers, and record-keeping architecture.
  • *Skills and Experience Required:**
  • **Regulatory Knowledge:** Awareness of regulatory client onboarding obligations, including conflicts, client due diligence, and anti-money laundering.
  • **Initiative:** A proactive self-manager who can handle their own workload, identify areas for improvement, and drive projects forward.
  • **Communication:** Confidence in responding to general compliance queries from colleagues, with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • **Analytical Thinking:** Good communication skills and the ability to articulate reasoning clearly and succinctly.
  • **Experience:** 2-3 years of relevant experience within legal compliance.
