Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adhoc Support Worker to join our team in Manchester. This role involves working flexible shifts within a supported housing environment, assisting service users with mental health conditions on their journey to recovery. You will be a vital part of their support system, providing the care and assistance they need to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support to service users, helping them manage their mental health and well-being.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, medication management, and meal preparation.
- Promote independence and encourage service users to engage in community activities and social inclusion.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
- Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all service users.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months UK experience working within a similar service (e.g., supported housing, mental health support).
- Understanding of mental health conditions and experience in supporting individuals with mental health needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
