About the Role

Base Location: New Forest, Poole, Salisbury or Yeovil

Salary: £37,075 - £43,063 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Network Construction, Wessex region is part of the Capital Delivery Team in the Southern License area of SSEN. Our work covers the replacement of assets on our Electrical Power infrastructure which supplies our customers across Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire.

  • The Contract Liaison Officer (CLO) will be responsible for onsite supervision of Contractor delivered Maintenance and replacement works under our Capital delivery program in the Wessex Region.
  • The role will require ensuring works carried out under our projects are completed to SSEN standards and validating completed works are correctly claimed using correct procedures.
  • Surveying of works completed and producing detailed maps annotated with works carried out.
  • Ensure the projects run smoothly with the correct supply and usage of free issue materials.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day on site issues including customer complaints and land accesses.
  • Drive a safe working environment with the contractors by carrying out regular safety audits and engagements, leading by example in all aspects of our safety culture to create a better culture with our contract partners.
  • The position will involve dealing with contractors undertaking various schemes both on our overhead network and works involving changing plant and equipment in our substations.

What do I need?

To be successful in the role we would love you to have:

  • Previous experience or a good working knowledge of Distribution Power systems and construction of over head power networks and substations.
  • Ability to accept and deliver challenges to drive improved performance and safety.
  • Good communication skills and not be afraid to speak out at all levels from on site with operatives to in meetings with Managers and Directors.
  • Proficient in I.T. and Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, to aid in recording details of works completed or omitted, including snagging lists with timeframes for corrections.
