Care Team Leader Female

Our 40-year-old client with complex needs lives with her close-knit family who is looking for a supportive Team Leader to provide hands on care for her and to manage her Care team. J is a chatty lady who enjoys doing arts and crafts, playing board games and floristry, if you have green fingers, you can help her look after her many plants. J has also recently started watching Grey's Anatomy and is looking forward to watching more!

The Role/Client:

This Team Leader role is to supervise the Care team, work closely with her family and provide direct support to J. J has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome as well as other complex conditions including non-epileptic seizure, complex PTSD, gastroparesis and other conditions that significantly impact on her health..

J is a friendly and chatty lady who can be very particular about her care. J, together with her PTSD can experience extended periods of pain and can get upset and angry. She can become frustrated and have outbursts where she may shout and say things in the heat of the moment, so we need an experienced Team Leader who is used to working with challenging behaviour and is empathetic and emotionally robust.

You will support J with all activities of daily living including personal care. You will accompany her to appointments such as medical and dental with another team or family member present. J uses a wheelchair but is bed bound for much of the time. J often has friends visiting, therapy sessions etc so there will be periods of downtime daily. J likes company but also likes her space.

J has Mast Cell Activation Disorder and has a lot of allergies; you will be required to prepare snacks and simple meals for J but must be extremely observant of ingredients used and also of any snacks or meals that you consume whilst on shift.

About You:

You will have previous experience in a Care Team Leader or Senior role. Possess excellent organisation skills. Team Leader duties include rota management to ensure consistent cover, collating timesheets and stock checks.

You will be a patient, empathetic and emotionally robust as you will be dealing with challenging behaviours. You will be caring, friendly, reliable and have a positive outlook on life. You will be able to use your initiative, provide flexibility and be mindful of good timekeeping and working in a family home.

You will need to be a driver and able to drive our client's automatic car. If you are a driver but don't have your own car, our client lives a 15-minute walk from Oxshott station.

You must have a certification of care or show that you have undertaken training in care. You must be comfortable with clinical procedures, use of MARS charts and willing to undertake injection training which is provided.

Pay:

Weekdays and Saturdays - £19.91 per hour

Sundays - £22.36 per hour

Admin - £16.33 per hour

Nights - £21.95 per hour

Hours / Shifts:

39 hours a week (36 hours of care plus 3 hours of Team Leader admin time)

Day shifts 09:30 to 21:30

Night shifts 21:30 to 09:30 (these are on call shifts where J will ring a bell if needed but most often nights are not disturbed). You will have use of your own bedroom and bathroom for night shifts.

The 36 hours are to be worked as a block; the admin hours can mainly be worked from the Team Leader's home if preferred.

You can choose to work these as 2 days with a night in the middle or 2 nights with a day shift in the middle. As team Leader you will be expected to have flexibility to work extra hours to cover sickness and holidays if other team members are unavailable.
