National Account Manager

About the Company:

We are working exclusively with a leading leisurewear and apparel distributor to recruit a National Account Manager. They are a dynamic family-based business with a strong culture and values. They started out decorating clothing at the start of the evolution of decorated apparel into Workwear and School wear. After making the decision to close the decoration side of the business in early 2000 to wholly concentrate and expand the distribution side - they have adapted and thrived on the rapid expansion of both the brands they deal with, the development of clothing and the markets which have opened up. They are now the leading distributor and supply into a growing number of sectors including Fashion, Merchandise, Corporate wear, Workwear, School wear and Promotions.

You will be expected to visit key accounts to gain insight into customers' current needs and to devise strategies supporting both operational focus and sales growth through acquisition of competitor sales, enhanced product knowledge and planned activities. Working with a collection of key accounts by way of regular presentations of brands and commercial development.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in Key Account Management
  • An background or interest in fashion and apparel would be highly beneficial
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Full driving license
  • The current key accounts are mainly within the Southeast of England and Midlands areas so the successful candidate would ideally need within these areas.
  • You may be required to manage additional strategic accounts around the UK so flexibility to travel will be required.

Key duties will include:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and members of the customer team.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities.
  • Plan how you can help these customers grow and how you can best support them with the variety of assets the company has.
  • Use a variety of communications skills to keep in contact, promote brands, products and develop engagement.
  • Understand the brands which they have within their portfolio and where they fit with customers.
  • Develop tailored customer presentations to ensure relevance and effectiveness in engaging your clientele.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback to identify opportunities to growth. To report on these findings weekly/monthly.
  • Achieving the Sales targets which are set both monthly and annually.
