We at the City and Capital group are pleased to be representing a highly respected and fast growing investment house and commercial property finance lender who have been operating with great success in the space since 2006.

Our client offer a range of property loans designed for commercial borrowers, such as professional landlords/property investors and property developers. Such clients have access to up to £50m+ in funding for short term property loans such as bridging finance and development exits, as well as access to commercial term & BTL products to support landlord portfolio growth.

Due to their innovative range of loans and a solution based approach to lending they are growing at an incredible rate. They are targeting a £3.5bn loan book in due course, which will be driven by c£2bn in new lending in the current financial year.

This means that more and more borrowers are utilising our client for key property projects which in turn is seeing the growth of the loan book that you would help to manage, both in terms of number of loans, and total debt.

Due to this they are keen to grow their Loan Management team with the addition of an ambitious, hardworking & confident Audit Manager or who will assist with ensuring efficient and accurate oversight of loan audit operations within the organisation from the point that they are funded, to the moment they redeem.

In addition, the newly created role will provide excellent opportunities to progress within as the team continues to grow around you. As the first one in you will be in a natural position to take further responsibility once you are embedded in the business and are performing well.

Audit Manager

Role Purpose:

The purpose of the Audit Manager role is to ensure efficient and accurate oversight of audit operations within the organisation.

You will be responsible for managing audit processes, understanding lending principles and underwriting policies, & supporting the Deputy Head of Audit (DHoA) in various capacities as well as working to ensure that funding lines are used in line with agreed covenants.

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation Management

  • Reviewing and preparing comprehensive monthly reports.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation by identifying and addressing discrepancies.
  • Reviewing all loan documentation to ensure alignment with both internal policies and funding line criteria.

Audit Management

  • Serving as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Deputy Head of Audit (DHoA).
  • Overseeing and maintaining the audit calendar, & coordinating engagements with the relevant audit firms.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for auditor enquiries regarding ongoing audits.
  • Escalating any issues to the DHoA promptly.

Review and Assessment

  • Conducting comprehensive reviews of valuation reports, legal documentation, KYC searches, and credit assessments with the assistant.
  • Ensuring that all mailbox queries are responded to within the company 4-hour SLA.

Policy and Compliance

  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of each funder's criteria.
  • Ensuring the maintenance and comprehension of underwriting policies as well as adherence to anti-money laundering policies.

The ideal individual for this role will demonstrate current or previous experience in loan servicing & auditing loan facilities, and working with funding lines. Property Lending experience in the above areas is preferred as this will enable you to hit the ground running more easily, this may be from a lender or a bank. Full training will be given on our clients credit policy, appetite, diverse funding portfolio & products.

You will be someone who is comfortable taking the lead in terms of loan management and will be a strong delegator in respect of working with juniors.

You will be proactive in your approach and comfortable working in a fast paced and growing environment. Critically you will also be highly organised and confident in managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Due to the high level of collaboration involved internally, you will also be a real team player.

Lastly, they are particularly keen on ambitious individuals who are keen to grow with the firm in the long term. Our client have doubled in size four times now in the last four years - largely due to increased investment and funding lines. This achievement is set to happen once more in the coming period.

Our client operate a very strong and proven promote from within policy, they will always look internally to achieve this, as such this is very much a career opportunity, as opposed to 'just another job!'

Our client are ideally looking to pay up to c60/65k for the incoming individual, though higher offers may be considered for exceptional experience or talent. All offers will be relevant to experience.

In addition to your basic salary you will also be enrolled in to the CEO' annual uncapped bonus scheme, where you can expect to earn a % of your salary in bonus again in December each year, as we discussed. A very strong OTE is expected due to this with opportunities to increase, year on year where excellent performance is achieved.

This role would be based in our clients fantastic new Victoria offices Monday - Friday. This is critical to due to the growth plans & collaboration within the team and across departments.
