Part Time HR & ER Specialist

Our client is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join their expanding HR team. Working collaboratively with a team of 7 HR Specialists, the ER Specialist will be pivotal in managing and resolving ER issues and maintaining legal compliance across all Operating companies.

This position will focus on overseeing the investigation process for complaints and formal grievances, mediate disputes, support the implementation of performance improvement plans and disciplinaries and capability processes. The role will also serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, aiming to foster a positive working environment.

This very attractive part time position is being offered as 30 hours a week across 4 or 5 days. Hybrid working is available with 2 days a week in the office, and the company provides an excellent benefits package, an annual company performance bonus, and a range of well-being incentives.

The areas covered by the ER Specialist role include:

  • Case Management
  • Dispute Resolution
  • Absence Management
  • Legal Compliance / Policy Development
  • Performance and Training
  • Managerial Support and Development

Other aspects will include facilitating flexible working applications, coaching less experienced HR colleagues in ER matters, and compiling HR and ER related statistics for various reports.

We're looking for:

  • Experience in case management in a non-unionised environment
  • Knowledge of UK employment law and best practice, and Right to Work and sponsorship regulations
  • Demonstrable understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Experience in coaching/supporting managers through various HR processes
  • A high level of integrity and ethical judgement
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and flexibility in approach
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • CIPD Qualification – minimum level 7 (or Graduate CIPD) or equivalent.

Ideal but not essential:

  • Knowledge of dealing with employment matters in a global business operating in other jurisdictions such as Europe/US
  • Experience within the Engineering, Tech or Manufacturing sectors
  • Employment law qualification.

Salary £36k pro rata (£45K FTE). This highly successful international manufacturing/engineering business has around 500 employees across the Operating companies, and the numbers are growing.
