Audit Manager

Our client, an ambitious top 50 Central London based Accountancy, has an exciting role for an Audit Manager to join their rapidly growing team.

Reporting directly to a Partner, the role will have a split between audit and non-audit assignments (management accounting, accounting, corporate tax and private client work).

As the Audit Manager your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio as the first point of contact for clients with turnovers up to £200m
  • Experience in management of the audit process from planning through to completion and review of work prepared by the audit team
  • review of corporation tax returns including capital allowances computations
  • Assist in training junior staff and providing feedback
  • Occasional ad hoc assistance in bespoke assignments such as preparing cash flow forecasts or due diligence reports

About You:

You will need to be ACA / ACCA qualified with 2 years post-qualification experience and previous audit experience within an accountancy practice.

  • Confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • You have developed good client liaison skills in different sectors, maintaining and developing the strong relationships which are key to the group's growth
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail and ability to think laterally to be capable of identifying potential problems and providing solutions
  • Up to date with current auditing and accounting issues and conversant with relevant auditing and accounting standards (FRS102 and IFRS), company law etc
  • Good tax knowledge, in particular corporation tax. A good awareness of VAT and payroll taxes
  • Show initiative, exercise judgement and take ownership of issues from start to finish
  • Experience of working on a wide range of clients (some FCA experience would be beneficial)
  • Computer literate. A working knowledge of CCH and Proaudit would be an advantage experience or knowledge of the Mercia audit programme would also be helpful
  • Willing and able to work under pressure and cope flexibly with demanding deadlines
  • Career progression is important

The role is on a hybrid basis with a mixture of office and home working.
