Job Description:
- Carry out a range of testing including tensile, hardness, impact, creep strain, stress rupture, grain size, macrostructure and microstructure evaluation.
- Ensure testing is carried out in accordance with the relevant procedure.
- Evaluate the results against the relevant specification.
- Ensure testing equipment is maintained and calibrated prior to use.
- Carry out heat treatment in accordance with specifications.
- Ensure furnaces are maintained and calibrated prior to use.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner. Participate in company safety initiatives.
- Work to provide results in a timely manner in accordance with planned dates.
- Communicate well with team colleagues and technical supervision.
- Participate in internal, external training and audits as required.
- Assist with improvements to procedures, equipment, operating methods etc. to increase laboratory efficiency.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
- 5 GCSE's including Maths & English and Science (C or above)
- Materials Science or Science based qualification e.g. BTEC/ONC/HNC. Candidates without these qualifications but who can demonstrate relevant industrial knowledge and experience will be considered.
- Computer literate.
- Relevant experience in mechanical and or metallographic testing of steel and nickel alloys.
- Development/Improvement activities.

- Willingness to work as a team & share knowledge.

- Personal discipline to apply the requirements and accepted standards

Additional Details:
- Shift - Monday - Friday - Days only
- Salary - £31542 per annum
- Bonus - up to 10%
